What are you currently working on??

Going from analog to digital with the meters takes almost as much mental gymnastics as all the new gender classifications. I have the same meter. I still have to go back to my old analog meter to have it make any sense. Don

Messed around on the Ranger some more. Running but will not idle or run at slow speed. Real hard to get at the adjustment and keep it running too. I ordered a new low cost carb for it just to get it running and get by for a while. Also have a repair kit located for the original and a local guy is going to clean and trbuild the original carb down the road. Changed the oil the rear end. Picked up more oil for the other drive units. Changing everything so I know when it is done. 18° this morning so not sure just how warm I can get the garage with the space heater.

Well I lied on tractor projects.

The 110 starter was staring at me. 60 degrees today...

Starter on. New fuel lines. Washed out tank real quick. Fresh gas. Changed oil real quick. Jump pack and the darn thing fired up after cranking for 30 seconds. Idled rough then shut off. Tapped the carb a few times with a screw driver. Fired back up and idled. Throttled up and took it for a ride around the yard.

If it had a deck on it I think I could of cut with it!

Impressive as its sat for a good while! Old deeres are tough imo.

All the original tires are still holding air!

I'm on the fence on a full fledge restore or let it wear its battle scars with pride. I'll never use it to mow but she has some age on her and a few layers of green paint....

Also fired up the 570 and took it around the yard just to mix up the fluids. Shut off the fuel and ran it dry. Much better.

Not a darn thing today. Started at 8° F and at 10:30 made it up to 11° and snowing. Run to town and got 15 gal of diesel for the heaters, split up about 6 pieces of wood to start the fireplace. Now sitting here drinking coffee with Kahlua. I don't move good when it is cold.

New carb came in the mail from a cycle outfit in Florida. I guess a lot of the oil dripers run the Mikuni carbs. Put the choke parts on the cable and in the carb, everything back together and fired it up. Ran good but had to adjust the idle screw up quit a bit. Sat there and idled like a new one. BINGO ! Another big plus for aftermarket carbs. $34 v $288. Need to change the front differential and the transmission oil yet. Adjust the shift cable, repair on the wiring as no lights to the rear. Lens is gone on the RR so will cut one out of thick plex-a-glass, red tail light repair tape over it and be good to go. Several other little things that need doing but not a big issue so will wait a while.

Had to replace battery and voltage regulator on the Sears last week and I made a new bar as battery hold down.

Most of my time is working at my old house, putting up blinds, installing GFCI plugs, fixing lights, small stuff upstairs. Once I'm done upstairs, I'll be finishing up downstairs, cleaning, some trim work and painting then on to the garage and barn which are a mess.

Don't think I will work in the shop today. Burn up to much fuel to get it comfortable. Mush warmer tomorrow so will rest again today and hit it hard tomorrow. HE! HE! As hard a this old fart can hit it.
About the same down here, Roger. Not much going on anyways.

I'm working on passing the time - waiting until its warm enough to fire up a motorcycle.
Recently got the Indian motorcycle in the glass case in the toy room of the new house. Had to remove the bracket I made to raise the handlebars so my over-six-foot carcass could ride it. That bracket made it too tall to fit in the case. Haven't ridden this one in almost 15 years anyhow but it hasn't been that long since I had it running.

Not done much since the week before Christmas. The wife came down with a nasty head cold and immediately shared with me. Have not felt like doing much. It's only been the last few days that I got much accomplished.
The A.C. 207E was still on the lift, begging for attention. I managed to rebuild the deck and adapt it to this unit. I'm still waiting on new blades, but everything else is done. This unit will serve as my back-up mower for a while.
If the weather keeps going like it is, I may be able to test mow with it soon. I've mowed in December before but never January. Rick

A small project I did was to install a charger/maintainer on the Ford 14D.
It will be interesting to see if it survives the vibrations from this tractor. Rick
