Somebody on another forum was just talking about those blades Cub uses that has the 'S" shape on the blades. They were saying too how cheap and thin they were. He even wondered about changing spindles to allow other blades to be put on. To no avail that I'm aware of..They are really thin. That whole tractor feels like a toy compared to my old Cubs. We have a lot of rocks here, I have hit some pretty big ones with my tractors and only ever bent one blade.

I saw that too. I agree with you, blades don’t just bend if you aren’t hitting anything. He was mowing a trail in the woods and hit a rock. The edges on the blades were chipped up pretty bad, so that wasn’t the first thing he hit either. He said he learned his lesson and will use his weedwacker there from now on. We’ll see, I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to put blades on this again before the end of the season.Somebody on another forum was just talking about those blades Cub uses that has the 'S" shape on the blades. But still what the heck are these guys running over.
That deck certainly looks well used already considering the age.
But in the same breath a lot of people think of a mower as a tool. Nothing more nothing less. Just like a hammer you buy to pound with..
Exactly. I don’t think these will be around in 50 years, he will be lucky if it lasts 5.Shows how cheap and crappy stuff is nowadays compared to the old stuff
That is exactly why I bought this battery powered for Carolyn. As I said the JD she cannot pull fast enough. The high wheel rolls nice but the pushing and pulling gets to be a lot of work for her after a time. With the power drive, half of that push pull will be eliminated. Will give the JD to the son in law as they are push mowing their yard in town. The other one I may keep as a back up mower. Will see how things work out. As for getting rid of all my gas tools, I doubt it. At least not in this stage of the game.I'll have to get to the point physically to where I can't pull a starter rope or the govt is gonna have to come with guns drawn to take my gas powered equipment away.

10 years? You are being too optimistic!, exactly. Ain’t no way it’ll be around that long like our old ones, technically thats how long stuff is made to last for now is 5 years… 10 if your lucky. And they won’t be collectibles either like our old ones are.
Yeah I suppose so, ha ha10 years? You are being too optimistic!![]()
