What are you currently working on??

Nothing on my own tractors, but I put tubes in the rear tires on my neighbors Troy-Built. He had me put Slime in them a few weeks ago, but it didn’t work.

I have posted before about my mom’s boss, who bought my grandfathers old Husqvarna a couple years ago. He can break anything, and probably should not even be allowed near anything with an engine. He traded the Husqvarna on a new Cub Cadet XT1 this year, and already bent the blades on that. I changed them yesterday, we’ll see how long until he hits something else.

They are really thin. That whole tractor feels like a toy compared to my old Cubs. We have a lot of rocks here, I have hit some pretty big ones with my tractors and only ever bent one blade.
Somebody on another forum was just talking about those blades Cub uses that has the 'S" shape on the blades. They were saying too how cheap and thin they were. He even wondered about changing spindles to allow other blades to be put on. To no avail that I'm aware of..
But still what the heck are these guys running over.
That deck certainly looks well used already considering the age.
But in the same breath a lot of people think of a mower as a tool. Nothing more nothing less. Just like a hammer you buy to pound with..

Yea I agree with that to an extent.
But good lord just pick stuff up where you mow.
I have a neighbor that hits something 3-4 times every time they mow. Think they'd learn. But laziness or stupidness takes over. Pick the s-it up...

Way back when my son was young he walked the yard picking up rocks for me. I was still mowing with the old MTD LT in my avatar. Well he missed a pretty good size one. Not only did it break---not bent a blade, it stripped the splines on one side of the cross shaft on the timed deck.

In his defense though I had been working so many hours that the grass had gotten out of control and neither he or I saw it.

My point, good quality blade will break before it bends like that thing did!
