What did you do with your tractor today?

Put the water tank on the back of the dumpster and watered the strawberries, cucumbers, and pumpkins.
I think I'm going to turn the tank around and have the valve right behind me. As it is, when I turn away from the plants the water moves toward the plant as the sprinkler is behind the axle. And with the valve closer I won't be having to get on and off as much. Also it will be easier to see where the water is dropping.

Dragged out the old craftsman today. Filled the gas, checked the oil, Boosted it and away we go. Worked perfect. Only used it once last year. And for the last number of years only used a few times. Needs one of those motorcycle type batteries. Battery is under the cover where forward and reverse shifter is. So does one pay $85.00 and tax for a battery or just boost it. ?????? I think I’ll just boost it. Just a great grass cutter and easy to steer. Day time running lights even work. Hehe.

Yeah I would just jump it too, Noel! Someday I should drag the old MTD Eight hundred out of it's hole and make sure it is ready to mow in case I break the MF12G. It hasn't been running in nearly 10 years.

Did Mowing Monday today, trimmed and watered trees and flowers. MF12G ran fine.

I thought I'd post here since I had to start the MF12G today rather than in "what are you working on"---LOL! I use a marine oil pump to change oil in the this tractor since it is re-powered and makes a gigantic mess to pull the drain plug. Warmed the engine up well and sucked out the old oil! Got 30 oz. out and engine capacity is 32 oz. I was going to put 30wt in it for summer but it seems to be as popular as toilet paper. Put 10-30 in. Next time i get to Runnings I'll get some. Since I'm on covid-19 leave from work I only went to a Dollar General about two miles away. I did also go to the welding supply store to trade for a full tank of gas, and I was a responsible citizen wearing a mask at both stops.

I use 10w-30 in every thing Doug. How’s the deck holding up. ?

Noel
I used to use 10-40 in everything until these newer vehicles came along. The temp range in the manual for this engine shows the 10-30 is fine in hotter weather but 30wt is recommended for 90-100*F use. It does get that hot here, but maybe not soon! Deck is working great, but I have already scratched the deck up, especially the left side rubbing against the fence, trees, and shop! They lead a rough life! When I look up the discharge side, I can still see the brown paint in places that isn't caked with clippings. We'll see how the underside cleans up this fall!

I didn't get a chance to do still shots, but I did take a short video (See my new to me Hydro-trac thread) and used it to roll the sweet corn patch.

It was "Mowing Monday" but the MF12G got run quite a bit harder than it's used to. The lady that lives to the east made an attempt to mow her front yard, about a half acre yesterday, but had trouble with her Murray. Then I found out her brother that lives across the street died yesterday morning. Just 52 years old but had bleeding ulcers and died in his sleep. After I got our yard done it was time to do her front half. The rest of her yard it too tall for me to tackle, and I can't get the tractor through her walk-in gate anyway. Tractor ran great, but cottonwood is bad so I bet the blower housing may be getting clogged with stuff that sucks through the recoil. Better pull it off for a cleaning.

The yellow looking grass is part of her front yard in the pic.
