What did you do with your tractor today?

No real mowing here till it rains again. Might clip some weeds off to keep them under control. Be a good run for the fresh motor in 782. Picked up a set of "High Lift Blades" from Cub Cadet yesterday. After looking at them they are nothing more than a standard blade with no more lift than that either. They go back.

Checked the RPM on the 782 I just rebuilt. Full throttle is at 2850. Will move the spring over one hole on the governor arm and see what that does. Throttle pulls the linkage arm to the stop so can't gain anything there.

Got the rain so got the IH 782 ready in case I need it. Set the static governor, put the 50C deck on and mowed off a patch of Queen Ann's Lace. in the lower yard. Had to adjust the carb for the deck load but everything ran good. Rebuilt B&S engine runs nice. Will mow towards the end of the week.

I used the E-14 Elec-Trak to mow the yard. First time this year. I try to use it a couple times each mowing season.

Carolyn's 1018 Cub died for no apparent reason mowing the other day. Pulled it to the shop and let it sit to cool off. 1/2 hr later it fired right up and ran. Fuel lines were routed over the muffler so I think it vapor locked. Rerouted the lines this morning, greased, fueled and ready to go again. Brought the 1512 cub up as it was getting a bit hard to steer. Jacked the front up, dropped the wheels off to clean the spindles up, greased it goo, fueled it and it is ready to mow.

Picked up a load of aged cow manure to spice up the raised beds for another planting of beets, onions, and maybe some turnips. The first time I’ve hauled anything with the White 1855. She purred like a kitten like it was an empty trailer.

Had a tree that was 1/2 dead and wind blew it into another tree so got the H16XL out with the front blade to go to work. Cut the limbs from the main part, drug them to the edge of the burn pile, then showed them in with the blade. But pile is in a small ditch - got the tractor down to far once and had to get the Ranger with the winch to get it back on top again.

Did a little work with the MF 12 loader tractor today. Had not been running for a little while and I had some potatoe plants to take to me little dumping site in the woods. So cleaned up the potatoe plants. LGT 165 had not been running in about a month and a half or so , same with Ferguson tractor. So started those and let them run for a few minutes. Have to boost the other Ford garden tractor. It hardly ever gets used. Has a snow blower on it. Needs a battery, but no sense putting one in it if it’s just sitting. I will boost it soon a let it run and operate all the controls on it, like I did on the other two I started today. Had Grunt out not to long ago, so it’s alright.

Nice setup getting good exercise, Jim! Looking at your tractor, it dawned on my that my garden cart is a "White" even though it's red---LOL!
Got it out of scrap at work a long time ago. Axle was bent. Nowhere near as tough as the one you built. Your tractor looks just as tough as your trailer! I thought I had a pic where the White sticker is visible but I guess not.

I snuck up the road with the Case to get some pictures of it and the sunflowers.

I have 3 tractors all Bolens. QT with a bad rear end and good engine, Tube frame hydro Tecumseh engine and Med frame G11XT Briggs L head. Last two ran last year but smoke bad. QT ran 3 years ago when it was parked. All stored inside. Not going to get into rebuilding them or even working on them. A guy I have known for years is on SSi and deals with fle market type stuff, some lawn mowers, etc. for extra change. I gave him all three tractors. This morning I aired up tires one on each, mounted the back wheel on the QT and got them all headed the right direction for loading. I like loading them back wards so I can see where I'm going when the roll off. 3 mile deliver in the morning. Hope he can make something out of at least one. Fairly knowledgeable on small engines and the two smokers may have stuck rings. Never ran good since I got them.

Parts of the yard were getting a little shaggy even though most is brown. Went ahead and mowed with the MF12G and trimmed up afterward. Pretty dusty in places. the MF12G ran and performed perfectly!

Friday I picked up a CC1862 in real nice condition at an auction. Unloaded it and run it in the garage. Sat morning I loaded the wood spliter and hauled to the SIL to split a bit of wood for their fire pit. Mostly Ash but ran into a couple pieces of Pine. That stuff stunk ! Spliter is back under the roof, trailer is parked and new to me tractor is in the garage. Truck is sitting out and getting washed off with soft water. Will pick up a oil filter tomorrow and change oil in the Cub, check the blades and anything else I might find.
