What did you do with your tractor today?

Nice pictures. I like all the tractors. But, the red one kinda stands out for me.

As much as I love Cub Cadets, the Massey is a nice little tractor too. One of my favorites. Someday I would like to get another bigger one, like maybe a 10 or 12.
Nice photo line up. Only green is the grass and trees like it should be.
I agree, but actually there are two green ones here, they are my dads. Nothing special, box store junk. I don’t consider them part of my collection, so they don’t get in pictures.

So, a lot of work and a little tractor fun today. Clean up some dead branch day. Still more to do, but that’s for another day. Can’t use up all the fun in one day.

After almost three weeks of not cutting the grass it finally happened today. Like many others it’s been so hot and dry. I had a few weed spots that were actually a foot high. I still left it a little high to help it recover.

I’m not recommending this but on my Cub Cadet LT 1050 it has a safety switch to keep you from mowing in reverse. It has a factory button to over ride that but doesn’t work. There is only two wires above the reverse pedal to disconnect to allow me to cut in reverse. I think I’ll pull it in the shop this week and take care of that. When I cut the yard grass I have to back up a lot so this will be convenient. I also ran the string trimmer for about an hour.

It's been 2 or 3 weeks since I mowed too, Jim. I could probably do the drain field and a couple other small areas but have a funeral to go to tomorrow and too hot today. Maybe after the funeral.

I disconnected that irritating switch on the Gardenway LT I got working for a friend too. No way I could mow my yard like that!

I’d say that would be hard on a machine to disengage and engage the deck at full throttle. I don’t have any thing that new to have that feature. Thank fully. Hehe.

And tall weeds as Jim says. When it gets hot enough and dry enough here, and no need to cut the grass, grass is sorta short and brown. But the weeds are green and a foot tall, like Jim’s. What’s up with that any way. Why the grass can’t grow and the weeds do ??? I kinda doubt we will have that problem this year. Has not been close to 30C here yet, 25C maybe on some days. And we’ve had a lot of rain. Only 4 weeks or so left that we could get any heat and a dry spell. Starts to cool down a bit by mid August. And morning dews are heavy, by then.

Noel we have a lot of clover here in Kentucky. To keep it down we let the grass grow high certain times of the year to choke it out or keep it controlled. Since the grass hasn’t been growing the clover is wild it looks like a truck load of popcorn wrecked on places. I don’t mind the clover too much but Carol hates it.
