What did you do with your tractor today?

Mowed with the Craftsman GT5000. It runs great, and the 54" deck covers a lot of ground faster but sacrifice a little cut quality over the MF12G.
Then did the string trimming in the front and middle yards, and sprayed some more weeds. Blew the clippings off the concrete areas and called it a day.

I used my MTD 990 and took a trip to my bone yard in my wood section. I had some repurposed fence rails of 5/4x6 treated poplar. My tomato stakes were 8 years and several broke last year so I needed to make some more. I brought them to the shop and turned some classic Country on and ripped away.

Grass cutting today. Then cultivated and disked the spot where I normally plant potatoes, but sons girlfriend figured she might plant something there. She’s the type that says she’s gunna plant and never does. So I dug it up any way and will see what happens.
Used the Yardworks to cut the grass. And the Ford LGT 100 with the attachments to do the garden.
Son used the Ford 1210 compact tractor with rear finish mower on the grass duty. We changed the oil and filters in the Ford 1210 engine today.

Nice job Noel. I have the same disc setup and enjoy dragging that thing. I have to use a cinder block over each one. If I don’t the rear one dances side to side too much.

I knew we would have ball games all day Saturday watching our grandkids play so I had a long day on Friday. I mowed more than I normally do at one time I usually split it up three different mowings. I mowed close to 2 acres with the Simplicity 3415H. I done the yard and one of my field areas , the other field area will be in a couple of days, and ran the string trimmer. Later I tilled and prepped a 50’ flower bed along one side of the garden for Carol. The ground was too hard to put her little fence up to keep the chickens out so I just laid each section down on top. I used the MTD 990 to haul things around. I might add I did take a break with a biscuit and bacon with some coffee.

Just another mowing post, just not on Monday like usual. Used the Craftsman GT5000 to cut down the tall areas where the trucks and trailer have been sitting in the back yard. Switched to the MF12G for the rest of the mowing. The GT5000 can't do the ditch out front or a small hill in the back yard. The leaves and cottonwood out in the ditch is still pretty thick.

Both tractors ran fine!

Power washed the Yanmar YM2610. It needed it badly.

Had to finally mow the sticks of weeds down. The rest of the pastures are sand pits. I it gets any drier, it will become a dust bowl. Having the main Rock River nearby really helps otherwise, yet all the other rivers and creeks are badly dried up now. Lost so many fish in the fishing holes too.

Used the RAM with the modified 'Brinly cultivator to run through the veining part of the garden this morning. Work half way decent considering how big those iron weed and foxtail had grown while waiting for the cultivator parts. Run across it length wise once and then diagonal. Will let it lay for a couple days them put a shot of Mckaze in with the 2-4-D to finish off what is left. Tractor started and ran nice, like a new one. Helped a bunch when I changed the points over to an Atom electronic system.

Hooked the yard trailer to the GT5000, backed it into the shop and loaded up some steel that can be out back in my junk pile. Severe storms and large hail in the forecast tonight so needed to make room to bring Loree's Equinox in. Took the crane off of the MF1450 and put it and the GT5000 under the overhang of the camper. Flipped the yard trailer upside down and put a 16" tire and wheel on it to hold it down. A wind a couple nights ago rolled it about 10 feet out on the gravel. Lowered the lift and put the MF12G on it with the MF8E and raised it back up. Swept the shop floor and brought in her car.

Hope we get more rain, but can do without the wind and hail!

Insurance companies don't want to pay for wind or hail damage any more. Just go my renewal. Mandatory $1500 deductible for any wind or hail damage. 8 pages of things they will not cover but 2 paragraphs they do cover. Had to go with a $1500 deductible on everything to afford the premium. Time to start shopping for another company I think.

Garden work with Grunt. Done that today. Making some rows. Sons girlfriend wants to plant.

Noel, you have a great tool there. I like it.
1687626915241.png

In my project list, I got more than half the parts to make one. Wish it was completed already. ;)
Just last week, I aquired a SQ tube bumper and bottom from of a pop-up camper. Seems it world be ideal to finish the job.
