New project

Not much progress over the weekend on the Allis. The daughter this tractor being restored for is a nurse and she was on call this past weekend. Most of her patients are closer to my house than where she lives. She asked me if she could stay here Friday and Saturday while she is on call. I told her of course but then had to start moving painted allis parts to a different room. I also covered up the rear part of the tractor in the garage. She did not ask about what I was working on at the time so I may be able to finish this tractor without her knowing.

I did get the front main frame primed tonight, tomorrow it will be sanded. If the sanding doesn't take too long I should have it painted tomorrow night.

Most of Saturday was driving 1.5 hours one way to pick up a used camper. I plan on staying in Mt Pleasant for a few days this year for Old Threshers and didn't want to try sleeping in a pickup. Next Monday I will load up the Power King and the Minneapolis Moline and take down to exhibit for the show.

I did get the front frame bolted to the back last night.IMG_20250821_183244185.jpgIt was a pain to get the 8 bolts lined up. 4 on the sides and 4 on the inside which bolts to the 90 degree gearbox. I put the rear tires on also, my back today has reminded me what I did on the tractor yesterday.
This afternoon I worked on the new to me popup trailer. A front corner on the front storage compartment needed a wood panel replaced. It is almost ready for next week at Old Threshers.

I sandblasted most of the front axle parts today (front axle, steering tie rods, and plate the tie rods bolt on) and sprayed them with primer. I plan to sand on them tomorrow and then spray them orange tomorrow. The one tie rod from the steering box to the plate is 1/2 ground down from rubbing on something. I hope once I get it installed I can see what and why it is ground down. The tie rods are 1/2" diameter on this tractor.

Some progress today, the driveshaft from the engine to gear box is repainted. The front axle is in the tractor, i need to paint one of the axle spindles to mount both of them in the tractor. The lift cam lever is installed. I sand blasted and primed a bunch of the brackets that need installed into the frame. I hope to get them all painted tomorrow in between several other items to fix.

There may not be much progress on it for the next few days.
My plan is to go to Mt Pleasant on Wednesday and spend Thurs-Mon at Old Threshers. I plan on taking quite a few pictures while I am there. In the past it was spending just a day there and then driving back late at night. I will be a nice change to not have to rush to try to see everything.
Once I get back I need to get busy on the tractor, I want to have it done for a close by tractor show on Sept 20.

I was able to get a more pieces painted and a few installed. The electric lift is installed I just have to pickup a 1/2" c clip for the ram end.IMG_20250826_131546603.jpgThe foot pedal is installed now even though the picture shows it setting on the pan.

More progress yesterday, I finished up the front tires and wheels. The new tie rod end came in, finished hooking up the steering. The rod from the steering column to front looks to run on the bracket for the electric lift. I will end up replacing the whole shaft. There have been a couple of times of removing a part to be able to install a different part, joys of working on a different brand. IMG_20250902_124101773_PORTRAIT.jpgIMG_20250902_145920548_PORTRAIT.jpgI did find a run on the hood in the clear coat I need to take out before the decals go on.

Spent most of the day working on getting some panels straightened and repainted. The foot steps have been a pain due to the rust and pitting. I did get the engine installed and the drive line hooked up. And the decals for the hood are put on the hood.

The foot steps are on a long with one of the side panels. Still working on the grill, it has a lot of small dents and twists in the bottom metal. I am to the point of having to make 4 of the panels due being rusted out and parts missing.IMG_20250907_141344132_HDR.jpg
