Been trying to get the F725 JD back on it's feet. Got a new ignition switch today. Steve had the canopy full for a while, once he got cleared out, it was way too hot to get the JD in. It's about a 100' walk from the house to the shop and I feel sunburned when I make that trek! Got a small job in the morning. Local friend has mower issues, needed parts. He & wife are on SS and her meds keep them near zero on buying power. I got the parts shipped in and told him to repay as he can, no labor will be added! He has about 1.5 acres to mow, so he needs the rider to work for him. Gotta take care of my friends! I'll go over in the morning early and put the parts on.

I put the F725 back together yesterday. I had to wire wheel the pulleys to get the rust out. I did put new PTO belts on it. Not much need for it right now, grass is turning brown.

Working on trying to find that parts to put the 432 gravely motor together once I get the original crank out of the junk block

I tried the boiled linseed oil trick on the F725. Figured it wouldn't hurt. Found I probably should have gave it a scotch-brite bath first, but it looks better.

I think the 68 and the 112 with get this treatment after a bath with an old scotch-brite to remove some of the dirt!

I have one parts jd 68 and one good one, they both are clean and all have good fiberglass hoods

Did a bit more on the F725. Not sure how well it will hold up in the sun, but here's What else I have done. First was the 'dash' panel.

Then the center of the steering wheel:

Then the instrument panel:

And I washed the side of the hood with a scotch-brite and soapy water. Reapplied the linseed oil:

Looks much better!

Got the rings for the CH16Kohler today so put it back together and closed it up. Will put the top end on in the morning and go from there. Not doing a first class job on this as the block has about 1/2" wide ring of light pitting in the cylinder where water sat. Really should of had it bored but doing this the least expensive way to get it running and back in a tractor again. Don't have much in it but time.

That was an easy fix. Had to replace the cam as the compression release flew apart. Didn't notice that the replacement had a shim on the gear end. The old one had no shimes on either end. Removed the shim, cleaned up the cover & blaock again, new gasket maker and put it back on. Turns good now. When I get the new seal and put in will be ready to fire it up.

Put the new piston, intake valve, exhaust valve, points in the JD 200’s engine then bolted the tins back on and reinstalled it into the tractor.
Need to redo the fuel line from front to back, put oil in and reinstall muffler yet .
That’ll be all for awhile as next week is vacation time and this week is just to busy for time in the cave. Anxious to get it running again .

I pulled the battery out of the 7012 with the blown engine and put the charger on it so I can put it in the 3415S to see if it will start. If it will run I will then move the 7012 up to the garage to start changing the engine. If it doesn't get too hot this afternoon.

No tractor time like usual.... need to replace steering shaft and front wheel bearing on daughter's Dodge durango and fuel pump just went out on my Firebird and it needs a front wheel bearing also.

Not my stuff, but helping another gentleman out. He's a bit older than me, wife has respiratory issues. Anyways, bought some parts and fixed a few things. I know he can't pay me right now, but I'm okay with that. He mows 1.5 acres or more and needed someone to fix a few things. Also put new cable ends on his other mower.

Dropped the 50" deck off the CC 1512 this afternoon. Center spindal was really noisy so took it apart. Run in to NAPA for the bearings, races and seals. Had to order the seals, be here in the morning. Usual story for some reason never has all I need when I need it. Needs to change the name to ****** "I can Order it" Ag Supply.

Nothing like helping a friend out to make one feel good inside. I did that last year for a friend. He ran over a stick and jerked the wire to the clutch off. I didn't have a clutch for a vertical shaft. I used a real small drill and drilled hole down into the wire holder. Put a terminal end on a wire and run and small short screw down into the plastic block that held the wire. Talked to him the other day and he said it was still holding and running good. Talk about a Jerry Rig ! But it worked.
