What are you currently working on??

Fighting with my Sears last night, kept stalling out while trying to cut grass.....of course for someone else, not at home. It appeared not to be getting gas, took FP apart, wiped a little oil on the rubber diaphram to soften it a bit, seemed to help, got finished mowing. Then it blew the main fuse for charging, seems my regulator is pushing to much again. I change about 1 out per year, think I'm going to find a 12v fan and mount over it, these things get hot even though its mounted away from the engine.

Had to replace the drain on kitchen sink last night, the 50 yrs old copper finally corroded through from the hard water and all the chemicals mom used over the last 45 yrs. From the looks of them, the copper supply lines will be coming very soon, was hoping I could wait until I redid countertops and sink, but probably need done sooner.

The old house we moved from had all copper drains from fixtures to the cast stack. Amazing how things have changed.

I left a few feet of copper drain that was still good, it's connected to PVC , but also it then T's off to a cast vent stack. That will be a replacement for another day.
I've replaced 85% of copper supply line with PEX, still have some in the old bathroom we need to remodel and then the kitchen sink which we plan to upgrade.

Brought the Broadmoor back up to the shop. The RH spindle I put the new zerk in had too much vertical play. Took it off and pulled the top bearing. Put a thin washer in and back together. Much better. I was missing one roller so I stole one from the center and added some 1" spacers to take it's place. Mowed some with it and it does good, so will let it rest till Spring when it will find a new home.

I put a small electric pump on my SS16, that was 5 years ago.C02563C2-1190-4244-8324-757D017F1383.jpeg

Ordered the tie rod ends Wednesday around noon. Came yesterday already. Put them in this morning. Want to check that center carrier on the tie rod so it is centered then it will be ready to mow - I hope.

I am still trying to get spark out of an hh100 tecsumeh. I think I'm on year 2 in this process...
Slow the heck down;). My avatar tractor I let sit for about 2 years before I finally dragged it into garage only to find the ON/OFF switch was wired backwards. Fired right up! I had dragged it home from scrapyard just for the wheel weights and hubcaps that it had, figured it never more than a parts machine

Funny how that works. I work on this thing, get frustrated, walk away for months, rinse and repeat. This time its going to run. Last piece of the puzzle is coming together. It will mow grass before the end of the year(I never said what year)

I bought a Speedex in 2014 sold it back in June. Guy texted me 3 hours later, he was driving it around the yard.

had a flat on the rancher 2 , while i had it apart it had a fracture in the tyre wall , i ponded what i could use and ended up using some suede leather for a tyre wall patch IMG_20181011_162440.jpg IMG_20181011_162452.jpg worked great so far , i don't have any other 10" tyres at all , but yet got heaps of 8" of various profiles but no rims to fit the Bolens ST120 axles thought

Got down to 38 degrees early this morning about 45 in the shop. I started the first fire while the misses is fixing home made biscuits, gravy, sausage, & fried eggs for a late breakfast. Life is good very thankful.

I have a Sears 18/6 with a back tire weeping out multiple cracks in the side . Wanting to keep the rims off the ground and have it movable I looked for a temporary quick/cheep fix. I removed the tire from the rim, cleaned the inside with carb cleaner and painted it with contact cement. It is still holding air after a month and a half. This tractor is not in service. I don't know how this would work on a daily driver. Don
