What are you currently working on??

Hey Rick
Will that back blade spin around so you can push with it
You made me go look. I was sure it would but had not thought about it before you asked.
Didn’t think about it when building it. Turns out that there are a couple holes that could be used to help hold the angle.

Just got these sent to me at lunchtime. Ahhh nice bare sheet metal...
Will save untold hours sanding with a DA and more untold sanding discs....
Everything had 2+ coats of various colors on it, none of the most recent colors stuck very well as whoever did the prep didn't prep well enough... And there were about 4 colors between everything...
Was some Bondo in the bed but once bare it's solid under that, Bondo covered dents not rust... Sandblaster guy said should come out with hammer and dolly and not need to re replace the Bondo.... tomorrow it gets picked up and dropped at the paint shop
Pretty much locked in my mind on a forest green, have a paint code picked out from back when this truck was new, also a newer (ugh) Ford green as used on the new bronco's.
Also considering a blue that's about the color of Detroit Lions blue or a couple of shades darker..

Hopefully having this done will have at least an equal reduction in the paint shop bill as bringing it in like this will save them a ton of time and as they say time = $$$$$
It'll definitely have an effect on the new paint 's chances of staying put.,..
The original body that was on that frame I showed the other day was maroon... None of the original body is going back on...
We have the doors hood and tailgate from the original truck but I tried to find the best of each in my stash and my kid's stash...
I have everything to put the interior back either maroon (except for good inner door panels, those were toast I'm still looking for some for my 1/2 ton version of this truck) or else a spice tan
I think either way the green or blue will look good with the tan...
I'm leaning towards the green for one reason... Well, 2 reasons
If I go green it's the same color combo as the 2nd jeep Wrangler I had and I got lots of compliments on that jeep of which I missed owning for 20 years only by a couple of months...
The other reason is that while I clearly prefer classic rock to country music I can't deny this one will be a "Johnny cash truck"..... Put together one piece at a time with parts donated from many.... And what color is cash....so hence the green.... And I'm not getting a bit of input from the wife and son..
But my 4 yo grandson (of whom my son keeps telling him this will be "his" truck someday) suggested orange... That WILL NOT be happening...

Brought home a 1641CubCadet.
16 hp Briggs Vanguard, hydraulic lift. 48” deck.
Story is that critters got into it and caused an electrical problem.
I will try to salvage the engine. The rest of it can go somewhere else.
I already have that valve, hydraulic lines and cylinder sitting on the shelf, and a spare transaxle.

Don't look to be in too bad of shape.

And it's a horizontal shaft not a vertical from what I can see....
When I started working on these things... It used to be said that if it's a vertical shaft engine in a "tractor" it's a piece of crap....
The real tractors had horizontal shaft engines... Or so it was said...

Good thing I don't live closer, I would snag the hydro stuff.....like I need more future projects/parts. LOL

Cut up some more of the down trees last night from back in the spring, most of all I can reach. I need to split a bunch, trying to get a full trailer load for an elderly lady at church who her and husband only heat with wood, they don't even have a furnace in the house.

Got up early and went to church, had to paint the front of the stage and the steps. We always painted them flat black, but the get scuffed easily and looks horrible so I painted them a satin this time, hopefully that helps.

Then we had a local car show, probaly about 150 to 200 cars, talked to a few people I knew.

This evening I finished splitting all the wood for the older couple. Then I unloaded the grasshopper off the trailer and loaded all the wood. I am beat this evening.

This is what I have left of the 4 trees. I was able to cut a little more off the lower ones. My son got a longer extension for his pole saw so maybe I can cut some more back.

Moved a tarp, found one of my Sears parts tractor got some damage, that steering wheel is trash.

Had a visitor, we usually have 4 every evening, she kept popping out when I was behind the truck. After I left, all 4 showed up.

Fully loaded, the lady setting up the delivery is having a baby on Monday so hopefully it won't be on trailer for too long.
