What are you currently working on??

Got a 1990 wheelbarrow with rotted handles. I cut off the rotten part from the wheels to under the bucket. Saved the actual handle ends that were still in good shape. The local Taco Bell last summer tossed out their satellite dish on a really nice angle iron frame. I snagged that for a 'what if' project. Today those are the new rails from the wheel and under the bucket.

Also was give free paint. So, I used it. Sky blue too. LOL

Here is the 1990 restored next to the 1965 restored model from last year. Using both now for garden cleanup.

The 1989 Radio Flyer wagon this year finally rotted out. Use to pull our two kids in their car seats around the local park with it when new. That cheap wood was painted 2X and added wood to mend it. It haul all kinds of stuff on the farm as a backup wagon. I'll keep the running gear and wheels. Just need a new frame someday.

My DW tells me I'm a hoarder, but once I get the pieces together, she bites her tongue and then uses the stuff. :rolleyes:

She said the sky blue was not received well. It might look like I'm attracted to the same gender. ugh, she follows too much of the woke news to draw her opinions.

Use what you got, Brett! I was a sign painter for a lot of years and color ain't actually gender specific except people thinking pink and blue! Light or sky blue is a male color then!

I also fit the hoarder status.

Saturday kicked my butt, and back and shoulders. We had a fountain place at our church a few months back, pump was running on an extension cord. We needed to run and underground line, in the only one that has the knowledge to do it right or close enough ;)
I had to dig a trench 45', ran underground cable inside pipe and added an outdoor switch. The pump end currently just has a wired plug and the are inside one of those sealed plastic tunes just for that.
Took me 3 hours just to dig trench, it sucked.

I know you guys are probably sick of me talking about Ohio rock/clay, these came out of the fountain side of trench. The big rock was 12-14" and of course played right in the middle of the trench. I even found a full brick from construction.

Besides the rock, the area between sidewalk and blacktop was the worst. A combo of thick clay with gravel, it must have been packed in when they built the place.

Finished up the first shotgun today. 12 ga, 2-3/4 chamber, 19" barrel. Stock is kind of beat up but solid. Inside of the barrel is nice and clean and tight to the receiver. Made in Brazil and imported by a lot of different store names attached. Will make a good tractor gun or a youngster's first shot gun. Only problem with most of those singles is the hammer pulled back so hard lot of the kids can't get them cocked in time to shoot at anything moving. Somebody will want it for $150.

Last farm place we were on was not modern. Dad talked the owner into putting in a stool and tank with lateral, but Dad had to do the work. Dug the hole for the tank with an old F20 and trip bucket. Older brother had to dig the line about 130' out from the tank by hand till the tile would drain out on top of the ground. Things were a lot different back in the early 1950's.
 
Was pretty busy today even with a cold wind blowing. Loaded up our son's C-10 with another load of old branches and logs from a pile in the back yard. Son came and helped. Took that to the dump and unloaded.

Came back got in the Denali and went and got a burger for lunch at a bar down the road. Started hearing a rear brake grinding. Dang it. While eating got an email from the banker that some checks were ready to pay some contractors. Headed into town and got them. Guess since that brake is grinding the rotor is shot anyway. Been too long since I inspected the brakes obviously. Got home again and went out to the well. Removed the pump and drained the tank. Spent an hour or so just putting junk away.

Guess the '55 has to come off the lift and the Denali on so I can see if just rears is enough or if the fronts are needing replaced to. About 70,000 miles since the last brake job.

Forgot to say yesterday that we also took apart the old church signs Loree and I tried to injure ourselves loading in the '72 GMC last Sunday.

On the run most of today too, taking checks to contractors. Had to go to Walmart to pick up meds so picked up some eggs and junk food while there. Our farm egg supplier hasn't been getting any recently besides just enough for their own use. Broke down and bought rear rotors and pads for the Denali. If my hearing wasn't failing, I probably could have saved the rotors. The squealers are probably about the right pitch I'm deaf to.

Didn't sleep great last night but when I got home had to make the appointment for the AC contractor to come replace the house system. Nov 18th! Almost 4 months from when the compressor croaked! Too tired and too cold outside to do anything else so just rested for an hour before coming out to the shop and getting on the PC. Will get the '55 off the lift tomorrow and put the Denali on it to replace the rear brakes. Supposed to be a bit warmer. Will be ordering front brakes too but not right away if there is still some meat on the pads. I had looked at them a few months ago and they were ok then.

Got my better ones back from repair after 4 weeks. They do work well most of the time, as long as there is no wind.

Finished up on the Jager 22 rifle I bought a while back. Some polishing + a new magazine fixed it right up. Bolt locks back after the second to the last shot now, load great both round nose and hollow points. Now to get it sighted in and find out just where it is hitting at 50 yds +. Good thing I have a couple thousand rounds of .22 ammo on hand.
